November 2020, Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses wreaked havoc across eight regions, causing widespread devastation and leaving millions of people affected, with hundreds of thousands still struggling to find shelter. Tragically, Typhoon Ulysses alone claimed more than 70 lives and inflicted severe damage on property and infrastructure.
In a compassionate response to this crisis, the University of the East of Caloocan City Alumni Association, Inc. (UECCAI), as part of its outreach program, extended a helping hand. On November 20, 2020, the association collaborated with the GMA Kapuso Foundation to provide much-needed relief to the victims of Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses. UECCAI donated a total of 71 sacks of rice, each weighing 25 kilos, offering sustenance and support to those facing the aftermath of this devastating natural disaster.
